Range selection: summarize a passage with two clicks

The range selection allows you to work on a sample segment without editing the records. Log in, open the Analysis Laboratory, and access the selection area. The function works in the normal grid and in the Fixed Column.

Mark both ends

Enable Select on grid, click on the first result and then on the last one. On mobile, use two taps. The segment includes both ends, regardless of which one was chosen first.

Check the highlight and the displayed quantity. A new click after completing the interval starts another selection. To abandon the segment, use the clear control. While the mode is active, clicks are intended for selection, instead of triggering highlighting or individual addition to the calculator.

Read the numerical summary

The panel shows quantity, groupings, and measures of valid numerical values. Consider an illustrative example with 0, 2, and 4: the sum is 6, the average is 2, the minimum is 0, and the maximum is 4. Zero is included in the calculation.

If there are records without a valid number, the count of rounds may be greater than the quantity of values used in the average. Distribution by name or color helps understand the segment’s composition but does not replace checking the times.

Choose an action for the segment

You can send numbers to the calculator, save interval A for comparison, export CSV, or write a note. These actions have different effects: saving A freezes a comparison reference; exporting creates a file; annotating records your observation in the browser.

If the results were filtered by attributes, the selected segment may not contain all the intermediate rounds from the source. Before treating the pieces as a continuous sequence, check the query. The selection guide shows where to find these actions.
